Prof Gordon Wallace and A/Prof Payal Mukherjee talk to ABC Illawarra about 3D Alek

During a recent radio interview with ABC Illawarra, ACES Director Prof Gordon Wallace and Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Surgeon at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Sydney (RPA), Associate Professor Payal Mukherjee, talked  about the customised bioprinter know as 3D Alek, which is now based at RPA Hospital to treat microtia.

3D Alek is a customised multi-materials biofabrication 3D printer that utilises a specialised bioink developed. The printer was built by ACES researchers at the University of Wollongong and the Australian National Fabrication Facility (ANFF) to assist in the regeneration of cartilage for use in reconstructive ear surgery.
