ACES at Yokohama National University is housed within the Chemistry department and provides access to PGSE-NMR, electrochemical mass spectroscopy, thermogravimetric mass spectroscopy, rheology measurements, and charge/discharge tests of electrochemical cells.

ACES at the Friedrich-Alexander University is housed within the Department of Chemistry and Pharmacy and provides access to fully fledged spectroscopic and microscopic investigations that are perfectly complemented by device performance measurements and catalytic H2/O2 production.

These techniques are all necessary analytical tools for analysing systems that convert catalytically solar energy into useful sources of power.

ACES at the University of Melbourne operates from its Department of Medicine (St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne) which houses a bio additive fabrication research facility.

ACES at the Australian National University provides access to the high performance supercomputing facilities available at the National Computational Infrastructure Facility.

These facilities allow the development of complex molecular modelling for our key research themes.

The University of Tasmania node deals with Electrofluidics and Diagnostics and Ethics, Policy and Public Engagement.

ACES at Monash University operates from the School of Chemistry which contains fully equipped research laboratories and extensive analytical infrastructure including Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy, X-ray Crystallography, Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry and Raman and FTIR Spectroscopy Laboratories serviced by full time technicians.

Monash also provides access to:

  • The Green Chemical Futures Building featuring purpose-built high-tech laboratories to develop next generation sustainable chemistries;
  • Monash Centre for Electron Microscopy providing advanced instrumentation, expertise and training in electron microscopy and atom probe microscopy;
  • The Melbourne Centre for Nanofabrication (part of the Australian National Fabrication Facility), which provides an extensive array of micro/nano fabrication and characterisation equipment.

Deakin University

Deakin University

ACES at Deakin University operates from the Institute of Frontier Materials, which houses specialised laboratories and state-of-the-art equipment for composites, polymers, textiles and biomedical research.

Deakin also provides us with access to its Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Facility to characterise molecules and materials for micro surface imaging and solution testing.
