Meet TRICEP Industry Engagement Manager, Dr Tillmann Boehme.

What is your role at TRICEP?

I am the industry engagement manager for TRICEP. I run industry workshops and facilitate the translation of additive manufacturing technology into industrial business cases. I am currently working on the establishment of an Additive Manufacturing cluster in the Illawarra.

What is your area of expertise and what kind of experience do you have in this area?

My area of expertise centres around supply chain innovation and human centred design for manufacturing innovation. I am an applied field-based supply chain scholar enjoying to proactively work with industry and translate knowledge in practical applications.

What are some of the projects and collaborations you are currently working on at TRICEP?

Most recently, I have been working on an Illawarra based additive manufacturing cluster that encourages open learning on 3D printing technologies and the development of new industrial value streams.

What is the future outlook of these projects?

The objective is to increase 3D printing activities within the cluster which can be achieved through active collaboration. I am confident that the cluster can achieve considerable knowledge spill-over and a buzz within the local industry.

How is this work being translated into real applications?

Cluster members have already increased their 3D printing applications moving beyond just rapid prototyping. In the next phase, we are developing opportunities for business model innovation using 3D printing.
